Job summary

Second Front Systems is seeking a detail-oriented People Operations Specialist to strengthen our QA-oriented HR processes and ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws. You will design test plans that verify system performance and maintain meticulous employee records across multiple HRIS platforms.

You’ll coordinate benefits, onboarding, and leave workflows while acting as the primary contact for payroll and policy inquiries.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience in People Operations or HR support.
• Experience with HRIS/PEO platforms (Justworks, Lattice, Ashby, Rippling).
• Experience managing onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, and leaves workflows.
• Knowledge of employment law and multi-state compliance (FMLA, ADA).

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding, offboarding, and employment status changes with accuracy and confidentiality.
• Maintain accurate employee records in HRIS platforms (Justworks, Lattice, Ashby) and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment law.
• Orchestrate benefits enrollments, terminations, open enrollment, and leave of absence tracking (FMLA, ADA, parental leave).
• Serve as primary point of contact for employee inquiries related to benefits, payroll, policies, and employment verifications.
• Partner with IT and Security teams to coordinate access provisioning and deprovisioning, ensuring compliance alignment.
• Contribute to HR process documentation, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
