About The Role
The role owns the operational backbone of the people function — onboarding, HRIS administration, benefits and payroll coordination, and compliance — for a fast-growing technology company. You will act as the connective tissue between HR, finance, and engineering leadership, translating headcount growth into clean systems, smooth processes, and a great employee experience from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and continuously improve the HRIS (Rippling, Gusto, Workday, or similar), ensuring data accuracy, automation, and clean integrations with payroll and benefits platforms
- Own the onboarding and offboarding experience end-to-end: provisioning, paperwork, orientation scheduling, and equipment logistics
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, open enrollment cycles, and vendor relationships; serve as the first point of contact for employee questions
- Support performance review cycles, engagement surveys, and people analytics — building dashboards and reporting in tools like Culture Amp or Looker
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements across multi-state workforces, including EEO, I-9, and leave administration
- Partner with recruiters and finance on headcount planning, offer administration, and new-hire data handoffs
- Document, audit, and refine people processes — turning tribal knowledge into scalable playbooks
What We Are Looking For
- 3-6 years of experience in People Operations, HR generalist, or people-team roles, ideally in a high-growth tech environment
- Hands-on expertise with at least one major HRIS (Workday, Rippling, BambooHR, or Gusto) including reporting and workflow automation
- Working knowledge of multi-state employment compliance, benefits administration, and payroll fundamentals
- Strong data skills: comfortable building reports in Excel/Google Sheets and presenting people metrics to leadership
- Excellent written communication and a service-oriented approach to employee experience
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Bonus: experience with equity administration (Carta, Shareworks), OKR tooling, or building people ops functions from the ground up
