Job summary

BlackSky is seeking a People Operations Partner to support onboarding and offboarding, manage HRIS data, and assist payroll questions in a hybrid role based at our Herndon, VA office. You will be the first point of contact for HR inquiries, help document audits, participate in SOX controls with payroll, and contribute to benefits administration and employee engagement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years HR experience including onboarding, offboarding, HRIS data management, and payroll support.
• Proficiency with HRIS, applicant tracking systems, and payroll software.
• Strong organizational, time management, and attention-to-detail abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for pre- and post-onboarding activities and ensure a great experience for new employees.
• Oversee onboarding including I-9 verification, policy acknowledgements, IT setup, etc.
• Manage offboarding, exit interviews, paperwork, and asset returns.
• Respond to HR inquiries, interpreting policies and procedures accurately.
• Process HR transactions through HRIS/ADP and support payroll-related updates and changes.
• Maintain organized HR digital files, records, and confidentiality.
