Job summary

Cognite in Phoenix seeks a hands-on People Operations Manager to own day-to-day HR operations, including payroll coordination, onboarding/offboarding, HRIS data management, benefits administration, and first-line employee support. You will partner with the VP of People Operations & Rewards and ensure US compliance in a fast-growth environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of HR Operations or People Operations experience in a fast-paced, scaling environment.
• Experience with modern HRIS and payroll vendors such as ADP.
• Working knowledge of US federal and Arizona state employment law, including leave management and benefits compliance.
• Strong HRIS proficiency with a demonstrated commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Payroll coordination with outsourced payroll provider (ADP) ensuring accurate and timely inputs.
• Oversee onboarding and offboarding processes for US/AMER employees.
• Manage HRIS lifecycle events: hires, promotions, leaves, transfers, terminations.
• Manage benefits administration and liaise with brokers/providers.
• Provide first-line HR support to employees and managers, triaging requests in Jira.
• Support compliance with US federal and multistate requirements and policy documentation.
• Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, Finance, and People Partners on headcount and position management.
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and generate standard reports.
