Job summary

The role partners with leadership to ensure compliance and foster a culturally respectful workplace. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in HR or related field, at least three years of HR experience, and familiarity with payroll systems (ADP or similar).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Experience with payroll and HRIS systems (ADP or similar).
• Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
• Experience in nonprofit organizations preferred.
• Experience working with the American Indian community preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day HR functions including payroll, benefits administration, training and development, and employee relations.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and compliance with employment regulations.
• Support staff development and foster a respectful, culturally aligned workplace.
• Coordinate background checks, fingerprinting, and I-9/W-4 documentation.
• Assist leadership with policy interpretation and HR best practices.
