Job summary

Topaz HR in Brooklyn, NY, seeks a seasoned People Operations Leader to scale the HR function across corporate, administrative, clinical, and field teams. This hands-on leader will oversee payroll, benefits, compliance, employee relations, performance management, and HR systems while building scalable processes aligned with growth.

Reporting to executive leadership, you will advance workforce planning, develop engaging programs, and partner with senior leaders to drive organizational success.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive HR or People Operations experience with leadership.
• Experience supporting employees across multiple locations and/or states.
• Strong background in employee relations, HR compliance, performance management, payroll and benefits.
• Experience supporting large, diverse, hourly, field-based, or high-volume workforces.
• Healthcare, home healthcare, long-term care, or another regulated environment strongly preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to partner with senior leadership while remaining hands-on.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Admin, or related field preferred.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day people operations across a multi-location organization.
• Partner with executive leadership on workforce planning, employee relations, retention, staffing, and growth.
• Oversee employee relations, investigations, policies, compliance, and complex employee matters.
• Manage payroll, benefits, leave administration, workers' compensation, HR systems, and employee records.
• Build scalable onboarding, performance management, and employee engagement programs.
• Develop HR processes, reporting, policies, and infrastructure across locations.
• Support acquisitions, new locations, employee integrations, and expansion initiatives.
• Lead and develop the HR/People Operations team while promoting accountability.
