Job summary

Talent Harbor is seeking a Chief People Officer to build and lead the HR function for a fast-growing behavioral health organization operating across New York healthcare entities. The role is anchored in scaling people operations, driving compliance, and shaping culture with a four-person HR team.

You will lead HRIS/payroll, benefits, recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations across multi-site operations. Onsite 100% in Brooklyn with ~1x/week local travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive HR leadership experience.
• Experience as VP HR, Head of HR, CPO, CHRO or senior HR Director.
• Experience in healthcare, behavioral health, home health, social services, or another highly regulated environment.
• Experience building or scaling HR infrastructure during growth.

Responsibilities

• Build and standardize HR infrastructure across multiple entities.
• Lead and develop a team of 4 HR specialists.
• Drive HRIS/payroll implementation and technology improvements.
• Lead benefits strategy and consolidation.
• Strengthen recruiting, onboarding, performance management, and employee relations.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare, employment, and NYS regulatory requirements.
• Partner with executive leadership on organizational development and workforce strategy.
• Help establish a consistent, high-accountability culture across the organization.
