Job summary

UMOM New Day Centers in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a People Operations Manager to partner with supervisors and drive people programs on-site. This hands-on role leads employee relations, leaves, benefits, and HR systems while growing the People Operations team from the ground up.

You'll coach managers through attendance, performance, and terminations, manage leaves and accommodations, ensure compliance, and own HR data and systems to support payroll and analytics.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including advising managers on employee relations
• Hands-on employee relations experience including coaching managers and terminations
• Experience administering FMLA and ADA leaves and accommodations
• Experience administering employee benefits
• Working knowledge of employment law, including Arizona law

Responsibilities

• Coach supervisors through attendance, performance, and corrective actions and guide terminations with care and consistency
• Manage leaves, accommodations, and benefits; provide clear answers and support
• Own HR system and people data, including implementations and upgrades for payroll
• Ensure compliance from fingerprint clearances to policy handbook reviews
• Grow the team by mentoring the People Operations Coordinator and collaborating with Talent Acquisition and Onboarding Specialist
