Job summary

Forus is seeking a People Operations professional to build scalable HR systems, programs, and processes for a fast-growing team in New York. You’ll own onboarding, compensation, benefits, compliance, performance, and culture, serving as the operational backbone of the employee lifecycle and a strategic partner to leaders.

You’ll blend execution with strategy, designing scalable solutions, aligning with Finance on payroll and headcount planning, and driving HR programs that support rapid growth

Qualifications

• 5–10 years of HR generalist experience
• Experience with large non-exempt, W-2 employee populations
• Proven track record managing HR through rapid growth
• Strong employee relations experience
• Compliance fluency with wage and hour, FMLA, ADA, and state requirements
• Experience supporting first-time and seasoned managers
• Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal)
• Analytical rigor with HR metrics
• Structured problem-solving in ambiguous environments
• First-principles thinking and attention to detail

Responsibilities

• Own full HR lifecycle: onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, compensation, performance management, compliance, and employee relations
• Design scalable systems and processes to support high-volume employee workstreams
• Serve as primary contact for employee concerns, conflicts, and escalations; manage sensitive situations
• Maintain HRIS, payroll, and data integrity; build leadership dashboards and reports
• Partner with Finance on payroll planning and headcount forecasting
• Develop manager enablement programs, toolkits, and scalable resources
• Drive culture and engagement initiatives in a fast-paced environment
• Experiment with AI-powered tools to automate HR workflows
