Athlete To Athlete is building a connected future for athlete development. We are seeking the first dedicated Business and People Operations hire to own the employee lifecycle, payroll, and core People programs, while keeping our Santa Monica office running smoothly and improving processes as we grow.

You will report to the COO and collaborate with the founders, handling onboarding, benefits, performance cycles, and office operations to create a well-run, people-first environment.

Competenze

• 4+ years across People Operations, HR, or business operations.
• Direct experience running payroll.
• Working knowledge of California employment compliance, trainings and notices, leave administration, and wage-hour basics.
• Discretion and judgment handling compensation, performance issues, and personal circumstances.
• Clear writing and reliable follow-through; ability to explain things clearly to employees and managers.

Mansioni

• Own the employee lifecycle, payroll, and core People programs.
• Onboard and offboard employees; manage buddy program and first weeks.
• Maintain accurate employee records across HR systems and internal files.
• Coordinate benefits with Insperity and 401(k) administration; manage internal comms and projects.
• Leaves of absence and accommodation requests; performance review cycles and policy rollouts.
• Serve as first contact for benefits, policies, and performance conversations; know when to escalate.
• Find and fix operational issues; take on ad hoc projects from the CEO/COO.
• Recruiting coordination during hiring ramps; ensure strong candidate experience.
• Manage office operations, vendor relations, and day-to-day workplace needs.
