Job Summary
The People Operations Intern will provide primarily administrative support to the People Operations team, helping maintain organized records, employee documentation, HR systems, and routine departmental processes. The intern will also gain exposure to onboarding and orientation preparation, recruiting support, employee programs, and special People Operations projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative support to the People Operations team, including document preparation, filing, tracking, data entry, and record organization.
- Maintain and organize employee records, HR forms, electronic files, and departmental documentation.
- Support HRIS data entry, record updates, routine audits, and reporting.
- Assist with tracking employee documentation, acknowledgements, trainings, deadlines, and other HR requirements.
- Prepare documents, spreadsheets, correspondence, presentations, and other People Operations materials.
- Assist with orientation preparation.
- Assist with employee engagement, recognition, training, and other People Operations activities as needed.
- Provide administrative and research support for departmental projects, process improvements, and special initiatives.
- Maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive employee and organizational information.
Qualifications and Skills
- Currently enrolled in a college or university program, preferably studying Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Leadership, Psychology, or a related field.
- Interest in gaining experience in Human Resources or People Operations.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable completing administrative, data entry, filing, and documentation-related work.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and follow through on routine tasks.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Willingness to learn HR systems, processes, and employment practices.
Schedule
- Must be available to work onsite 10-15 hours per week.
- Internship hours must be scheduled between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., based on departmental needs and the intern's class schedule.
