People Operations Generalist - Remote Part-Time

Job summary

Spectro Cloud is seeking a hands-on People Generalist for a 4-month, part-time contract. You’ll handle day-to-day HR operations, immigration, benefits, and payroll coordination for US employees, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

You’ll be the first point of contact for HR questions, maintain policies and documentation, and collaborate with our People team, immigration counsel, and payroll to ensure compliance and smooth processes.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HR generalist or HR operations experience.
• Experience handling leaves of absence (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, SDI/PFL) in the US.
• Knowledge of US employment-based immigration processes.
• Experience administering employee benefits and coordinating with a payroll team.
• Ability to work onsite at our San Jose, CA office on Monday, Tuesday, and/or Wednesday (required).
• Discretion with confidential information and clear written communication.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact for employee HR questions via email, Slack, and the HR ticketing queue.
• Maintain HR documentation, including employment verifications, letters, and personnel files.
• Review and update policies, including the employee handbook, leave of absence, immigration, and other HR policies.
• Keep the HR Confluence page current with policies, benefits, and processes.
• Coordinate visa and green card processes with outside immigration counsel and affected employees.
• Track deadlines for immigration and I-9 verifications and send reminders.
• Support benefits administration and leaves of absence in partnership with Payroll.
• Reconcile benefits invoices and deductions against carrier and payroll records.
