Job summary

Spectro Cloud is seeking a Senior Payroll & GL Accountant to own our global payroll as we scale. This hybrid role focuses 60% on payroll management and 40% on general ledger payroll accounting across the US and international contractors, supporting a fast-growing SaaS startup.

You’ll manage US and international payrolls, ensure ERP integration, postings, and reconciliations, and collaborate with G&A and leadership to drive accurate financials.

Qualifications

• 5+ years progressive payroll and accounting experience.
• Solid understanding of payroll tax compliance (federal, state, FICA, etc.).
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll processing.
• Advanced Excel & Google Sheets skills with large datasets (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
• Self-starter who operates well with minimal supervision in a fast-scaling environment.

Responsibilities

• Own global payroll, bi-weekly and semi/monthly payrolls for US-based employees; assist with monthly payrolls elsewhere.
• Manage payroll tax adjustments, GL postings, accruals, and reconciliations; support ERP sync and bonus accruals.
• Document payroll processes, controls, and assist with external audits and leadership analyses.
• Support month-end/year-end close activities and compensation reviews; troubleshoot HR/Finance process gaps.
