Job summary

City of Temple, Texas is seeking an HR Generalist to support staffing, onboarding, compliance, leave management, compensation, employee relations, and related HR functions on the People Operations team. You will be the primary contact for employees and managers, assist with recruiting, process HRIS changes, and issue HR documents while ensuring timely delivery and accuracy.

Grows strong cross-department relationships, maintains accurate records, and helps ensure compliance with applicable laws

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field
• 2 years HR experience across multiple functions
• Valid driver's license

Responsibilities

• Serves as primary contact for employees and managers
• Supports recruiting: postings, applicants, onboarding
• Reviews HRIS changes and approves workflows per policies
• Prepares HR documents including offer letters and notices
• Manages leave requests (FMLA, Workers' Comp, Military Leave)
• Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local laws
