Job summary

Planful is seeking a Director of People to partner with the CPO and company leadership, turning priorities into practical people programs. You will lead a small team, coach leaders, and stay hands-on to drive impactful people initiatives across performance, development, compensation, and culture.

You will own complex employee relations, leverage data for action, and ensure policies and HRIS processes run smoothly across locations. A strategic, hands-on leader will thrive here.

Qualifications

• Progressive People or HR leadership experience within a fast growing SaaS company.
• Broad, hands-on expertise across employee relations, performance management, talent, engagement, compensation, and people operations.
• Experience succeeding as a player-coach, leading a small team while personally owning important work and delivering high-quality outcomes.
• Strong business judgment and the confidence to advise senior leaders, challenge constructively.

Responsibilities

• Partner with the Chief People Officer and company leaders to set people priorities and turn them into clear, practical plans.
• Lead, coach, and develop a small People team. Set clear priorities, remove roadblocks, and step directly into the work when needed.
• Act as a trusted advisor to leaders on organizational effectiveness, performance, talent decisions, workforce planning, and team health.
• Own complex employee relations matters from start to finish with sound judgment and compliance.
• Design and drive programs across performance management, talent development, succession planning, manager enablement, engagement, and culture.
• Use people data and employee feedback to identify trends, recommend action, and provide monthly reporting.
• Oversee compensation and benefits programs and collaborate on planning and budgeting.
• Ensure HRIS, data integrity, reporting, policies, and core lifecycle processes run smoothly.
• Maintain compliant people policies across Planful locations and stay current on employment laws.
• Simplify work, identify gaps, and follow through until solutions are in place.
• Adapt quickly to changing needs and manage new priorities without losing momentum.
