Job summary

General Matter seeks a People Operations Coordinator to own day-to-day systems like onboarding/offboarding, benefits enrollment, and HRIS data integrity. You’ll be a key liaison across Recruiting, Finance, and department leads, helping scale People operations in a fast-paced environment.

The role emphasizes process-building where none exists, attention to detail, and organization. You’ll manage confidential information and partner on company events and culture initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1+ years administrative experience; internships or part-time work count.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Microsoft 365 (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
• Highly organized with ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Discretion handling confidential and sensitive information.

Responsibilities

• Own onboarding and offboarding end-to-end, from offer to ramp and exit logistics.
• Administer employee benefits programs incl. enrollment and questions.
• Maintain accurate HRIS records with data integrity across systems.
• Plan and execute company events and culture initiatives.
• Serve as first point of contact for employee questions; maintain confidentiality.
• Identify gaps in People Ops processes and build or improve them.
• Support compliance-related recordkeeping as the team scales.
• Collaborate with Recruiting, Finance, and department leads to keep processes running smoothly.
