Job summary

Potbelly Corporate in Pleasant Prairie, WI seeks a proactive Assistant Manager to co-lead daily shop operations. You will train and coach staff, schedule shifts, and drive sales while upholding food-safety standards and labor controls.

The role requires at least 2 years of management experience in food service or retail, strong communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Expect a full-time schedule across day/evening shifts with a base salary and bonus potential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of at least 2 years management experience in either a restaurant or retail environment preferred
• You meet all Food Safety requirements within your state and must pass and obtain a Food Safety Certification
• You have strong written and verbal communication skills
• You enjoy problem-solving and can multitask in a fast-paced environment
• You can maintain deadlines and prioritize while running an effective shift
• You have strong organizational skills and can multitask
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment; knife skills a plus
• You can manage allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood and shellfish
• You can build and develop strong teams and handle conflict resolution
• Strong interviewing and scheduling skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Willingness to stand/walk 8-9 hours and work minimum 45 hours per week
• Open availability preferred

Responsibilities

• Train, coach and develop Potbelly Associates and Shift Leaders
• Effectively interview and recommend hiring of Associates and Shift Leaders
• Develop and maintain a Good Vibes culture to attract and retain staff
• Effectively schedule Associates, Trainers and Shift Leaders
• Update communication board with critical shop information
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings
• Ensure all security procedures are followed
• Ensure back-of-house standards are met
• Count drawers and follow daily cash handling procedures
• Drive local marketing and recruiting efforts to maximize sales
• Assist GM with cost of goods and inventories management
• Control assigned P&L items
• Comply with health and safety standards for food and safety
• Handle customer complaints/issues
• Other duties as assigned
