Job summary

Carter’s is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to be the first face of the brand for growing families. You’ll welcome customers, introduce them to our baby essentials, and help prep for school readiness while leading a welcoming team on the sales floor.

You’ll coach staff, model service standards, analyze business performance, and partner with the Store Manager on merchandising, scheduling, and loss prevention.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of retail or related management experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute workforce management to ensure a genuine customer focus on the sales floor.
• Welcome customers with a warm greeting and provide assistance with product styles, features and benefits.
• Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive environment for employees and customers.
• Coach others to success while modeling service standards and omnichannel experience.
• Analyze the business and drive KPIs with the team to improve results.
• Build customer loyalty through company-sponsored programs, including credit.
• Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, hiring, training, and developing store staff.
• Recognize exceptional performance and redirect employees when needed.
• Plan, track, and report on tasks and financial results using company tools.
• Support merchandising standards, promotional planning, and product placement with the Store Manager.
• Help reduce loss through customer service, education, and operational controls.
