Job summary

Meijer is seeking an Operations Supervisor in a bench leadership track to learn our business, culture and operations. The role progresses from hands-on training to direct leadership of a team within our Midwest distribution framework.

Bring 3+ years of leadership or warehouse management experience, plus a Bachelor's in Supply Chain Management preferred. Strong analytical and communication skills support daily staffing, performance tracking and process improvements.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of leadership and/or warehouse management experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
• Proven analytical, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Conflict resolution and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, trains, develops and maintains staffing levels to meet daily goals.
• Identify high potential team members for leadership development.
• Foster positive working relationships with team members and union reps where applicable.
• Cultivate a positive work environment and support differences.
• Ensure adherence to Meijer policies, procedures and practices.
• Establish and maintain DC Scorecard metrics; use data to identify performance opportunities.
• Train and lead teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals.
• Safely operate material handling equipment and move materials as needed.
• Monitor performance metrics; provide coaching, retraining and disciplinary actions when necessary.
• Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and recommend improvements.
• Administrative duties related to production, shipping and quality.
• May perform other duties as assigned.
