Job summary

Meijer Inc. in Michigan is seeking an Operations Supervisor-in-training to learn our distribution center operations and leadership expectations. You will later transition into a full supervisor role with direct leadership responsibility.

You will lead staffing, coach teams, ensure policy adherence, and drive productivity and safety while collaborating with union reps where applicable. The role emphasizes data-driven decisions and continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management preferred.
• 3+ years of leadership and/or warehouse management experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Conflict resolution and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Interviews, trains, develops and maintains appropriate staffing levels to meet daily operational goals.
• Identify high potential team members for development opportunities to create a leadership bench.
• Foster positive working relationships with Team Members and Union representatives, where applicable, to promote satisfaction and retention.
• Cultivate a positive and innovative work environment and promote a team that values differences.
• Ensure adherence to Meijer policies, procedures and practices.
• Establish and maintain DC Scorecard metrics for productivity and efficiency; use data-based analysis to identify opportunities.
• Trains, coaches and leads work teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals.
• Ensure the ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials to and from storage configurations.
• Manage team member concerns and lead investigations; provide discipline recommendations to First Assistant and HR.
• Monitor and track performance metrics for direct reports; provide coaching, retraining and disciplinary action as necessary.
• Continuously evaluate warehouse processes and identify improvements.
• Administrative duties related to production, shipping and quality performance.
