Job summary

Agate Housing in Minneapolis is seeking an HR Generalist to help grow the team that changes lives. You will lead recruitment and onboarding, support program staffing, and build a welcoming employee experience.

As a core member of the HR team, you'll maintain records, handle leaves and benefits, and contribute to compliance and worker safety initiatives. Your work will directly enable Agate to serve thousands in our community.

Qualifications

• Experience as HR generalist or similar in nonprofit settings.
• Strong knowledge of recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations.
• Familiar with benefits, payroll, and leave administration.
• Ability to handle confidential information and maintain accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle recruitment and onboarding processes.
• Develop onboarding materials and deliver new hire orientation.
• Support staffing for new and expanding programs.
• Maintain accurate HR records and HRIS data.
• Coordinate leaves, payroll changes, and benefits support.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
