Job summary

PayBright is seeking a Senior Human Resources Generalist to own day-to-day employee experience and core HR operations, reporting to the CEO. The role emphasizes employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and leave administration while upholding company policies.

The ideal candidate thrives in relationship-building, problem-solving, and delivering a positive employee experience, acting as the primary HR contact with independent work style and practical HR approach.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressively responsible HR experience, preferably in a generalist role.
• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration or related field; or relevant experience.
• Hands-on onboarding and offboarding experience from start to finish.
• Strong knowledge of federal employment requirements and state considerations.
• Proven ability to handle complex employee relations issues and investigations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary day-to-day HR resource for employees and managers with guidance on policies and attendance.
• Manage employee relations from initial concern through resolution, including investigations.
• Promote compliance with federal, state, and local employment requirements.
• Own onboarding process from offer to first weeks, including I-9/ E-Verify and HRIS setup.
• Handle offboarding, including documentation, access removal, and exit interviews.
• Administer benefits programs, including enrollment and life events.
• Manage leave programs (FMLA and others) with accurate records and communications.
• Coordinate accommodations (ADA/PWFA) and return-to-work processes.
• Support performance and attendance improvements with managers and documentation.
• Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation.
• Partner with leadership to refine HR policies and processes as the company grows.
• Provide light workplace coordination and office support as needed.
