Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to support store operations, customer service and team development in a fast‑paced retail setting. You will help manage daily activities, supervise associates, and ensure a clean, welcoming shopping environment.

The role requires strong communication, the ability to lift up to 55 lbs, and a commitment to safety and procedural compliance. This is a full‑time on‑site position with growth opportunities within store leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environments preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs and perform physical tasks.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-energy team environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day store activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize and transfer merchandise from delivery to stockroom and floor.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process directives and maintain store communications and records.
• Maintain storefront fixtures, displays and seasonal areas.
• Assist in ordering merchandise, processing damaged goods, payroll/scheduling/cash handling, and loss prevention.
• Maintain clean, well-stocked store and organized stockroom.
• Protect and secure store assets, including cash, and follow safety guidelines.
• Help Store Manager supervise, train, and develop store associates.
• Ensure a positive, safe, and respectful environment for customers and staff.
