Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to help with store operations, customer service, and team development. You will assist with day-to-day activities, support opening/closing procedures, and help organize merchandise from delivery to the floor while maintaining seasonal areas.

The role requires strong communication and customer service skills, with a preference for prior store management experience in retail or grocery settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Store management experience in retail, grocery, or drug store environment preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs. and frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and written skills are required.
• Ability to work in a high-energy, team environment is required.
• Exceptional customer service, organizational, and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with store functions and day-to-day activities.
• Help customers in a positive, approachable manner and address questions or concerns.
• Help organize, and transfer merchandise from delivery truck to stockroom to sales floor and maintain seasonal areas.
• Perform opening and closing procedures as needed.
• Process all corporate directives and maintain records including payroll, scheduling, and cash receipts; assist with loss prevention.
• Maintain well-stocked sales floor and organized stockroom to company standards.
• Protect and secure all company assets, including store cash.
• Adhere to policies and safety guidelines; ensure associates follow procedures.
• Support Store Manager in supervising, training, and developing Store Associates.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and respectful environment with professional interactions.
