Job summary

SKIMS on Sunset Boulevard is seeking an Assistant Store Leader – People. You will partner with the Store Leader to ensure the store runs smoothly, achieves business results, and delivers consistent, exceptional service to every customer.

In this role you’ll lead all people-related responsibilities from talent acquisition to development, performance, and employee relations, fostering an inclusive, growth-focused culture with strong emotional intelligence.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years in a people leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of hiring, onboarding, and performance management best practices.
• Track record of proactively identifying talent needs and building a strong pipeline through networking and outreach.
• Experience handling employee relations with professionalism, confidentiality, and empathy.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.

Responsibilities

• Lead with a Customer Obsessed mindset by building a team that is engaged, motivated, and consistently focused on delivering exceptional service to every customer.
• Own all talent acquisition responsibilities for the store, including outreach, recruitment, interviews, and hiring; build a diverse pipeline reflecting SKIMS values.
• Be proactive in hiring and anticipate staffing needs; maintain a strong bench of candidates through networking and community connections.
• Drive Results through people by linking hiring strategies and staffing to KPIs and customer experience.
• Lead and execute onboarding to ensure new hires feel welcomed, supported, and set up for success.
• Proactively manage scheduling and labor planning to meet business demands while upholding SKIMS service standards.
• Support learning agility by identifying training needs and building development plans.
• Own store performance management routines with clear expectations, feedback, and coaching.
• Manage employee relations with confidentiality and objectivity; communicate effectively.
• Identify and nurture leaders to build a bench of talent for growth and succession.
• Develop engagement strategies that recognize wins and foster team connection.
