Job summary

YWCA Greater Los Angeles (GLA) is seeking an HR Generalist to manage recruitment, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations. The role requires adherence to federal, state and local laws and close collaboration with departments to address HR needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human Resources or related field.
• Three years’ experience related to Human Resources.
• Proficient in Microsoft 365 and ADP.
• Bilingual in Spanish highly desired.
• Must be organized, able to function independently, possess initiative, flexible, sound judgement, cooperative and good people skills.
• Hands-on person who is proactive, driven and resourceful.

Responsibilities

• Handle a wide range of Human Resources functions including recruitment, employment, onboarding, benefits, and employee relations.
• Adhere to applicable policies, procedures and federal, state and local employment laws.
• Support and collaborate with departments to address HR needs.
• Develop accurate job descriptions and requisitions with departments.
• Analyze turnover data and provide recommendations based on exit interviews and employee input.
• Screen applicants and facilitate Zoom interviews.
• Participate in job fairs and career days; attend relevant meetings with brokers and carriers.
• Maintain HR records and prepare HR reports.
• Enroll staff in medical, dental, vision, life, disability and supplemental insurances; verify and pay bills.
• Process unemployment and state disability claims; prepare termination packets.
• Distribute COBRA notifications and manage retirement plan eligibility.
