Job summary

Community Bridges is seeking a Peer Support Specialist to provide one-on-one support and assist with day-to-day problem-solving to help clients normalize and reintegrate into the community. The role emphasizes recovery principles, assertive engagement, and harm-reduction approaches in both community and facility settings.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, and a CPSS certification within 90 days of hire, with six months of recovery experience and six months in behavioral

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of six months recovery from substance use and/or mental health disorders.
• Minimum of six months experience in Behavioral Health and/or Substance Abuse field.
• CPSS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Substance use disorder certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide peer support addressing day-to-day problem-solving related to normalization and reintegration into the community.
• Engage with members in the community and facility using best practices of assertive engagement, harm reduction and peer support.
• Promote a safe and inclusive recovery environment for clients.

Education

High school diploma or GED
