Director Of Human Resources at Arizona Women’s Recovery Center

Position Details:

Available Days: Monday, Tuesday, and Friday from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm; Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Job Summary:

Arizona Women’s Recovery Center (AWRC), Phoenix, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing substance abuse treatment to women through various programs tailored to individual needs. Our focus is on equipping women with tools and resources to lead financially independent, drug-free lives.

AWRC offers supportive and rehabilitative services to individuals and families dealing with substance use issues, mental health disorders, and co-occurring conditions. The Peer Support Specialist/BHT reports to the Peer Support Case Manager Supervisor and is a safety-sensitive position.

Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an experienced mentor, advocate, and educator.
  • Provide peer support, case management, community referrals, education, living skills training, outreach, employment assistance, and relationship skills training to adults recovering from addiction.
  • Support clients by teaching independence, focusing on strengths, listening to experiences, role modeling recovery, and encouraging success.
  • Offer support and education to family members of adult clients.
  • Understand and apply the “Stages of Change” model.
  • Implement client treatment plans under supervision.
  • Transport clients using a 12-passenger van to appointments and community resources.
  • Deliver services within the agency’s scope and under supervision, ensuring compliance with organizational standards.
  • Recognize, prevent, and respond to client crises.
  • Assist clients in accessing community services.
  • Document client information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ensure compliance with reporting and billing procedures.
  • Respect cultural differences and demonstrate ethical behavior.
  • Model positive mental health practices and recovery tools.
  • Adhere to all laws regarding vehicle safety during transportation.
  • Participate in monthly supervision sessions.
  • Perform additional duties, including clerical and reception tasks, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Valid Arizona Driver’s License (unrestricted).
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Peer Support Specialist Certification.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Pass a background check and drug screening.
  • Minimum one year of experience in alcohol and other drugs (AOD).
