What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Perform registry responsibilities in compliance with the Commission on Cancer regulations and Arizona Reporting Requirements
- Conduct research, analysis, and reporting of collected cancer data from medical records
- Maintain databases of cancer information for research purposes
- Examine medical and pathology records to determine patient eligibility for the cancer registry
- Ensure confidentiality and accuracy in handling sensitive patient information
What is Required (Qualifications):
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Oncology Data Specialist
- Certified as an Oncology Data Specialist-Certified (ODS-C), formerly Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR)
- Must have Cancer Registry training
- Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with Rocky Mountain Software
- Strong initiative, independent thinking, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of American College of Surgeons Program Standards for an approved cancer program
- Familiarity with International Classification of Diseases for Oncology (ICD-0) coding principles
