Job summary

CarePoint Response, Inc. in Baltimore, MD seeks a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our frontline crisis intervention team at the Substance Use Urgent Care Center.

You will assess, evaluate, and perform crisis intervention techniques and develop crisis plans to support the continuation of services for individuals in crisis. The Peer Recovery Specialist is responsible for documentation and serves as an on-site resource for relevant clinical information, while also acting as a liaison with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of related experience.
• CPRS certification or willingness to be certified within one year of employment.
• At least two years in full recovery and three years of lived experience with mental illness or substance use disorder.
• Valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Self-identify as a Peer and provide peer support to consumers and families.
• Assist in conducting substance use crisis assessments, including overdose risk, withdrawal symptoms, suicide risk, safety concerns, harm reduction, and environmental factors impacting recovery.
• Create appropriate referral recommendations and develop treatment plans using available agency and community resources.
• Complete documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as appropriate federal, state, and county regulations.
