Job summary

CarePoint Response, Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist to join our frontline crisis intervention team at the Substance Use Urgent Care Center. You will assess, evaluate, and perform crisis intervention techniques and develop crisis plans to support individuals in crisis.

This role offers multiple schedules including full-time, part-time, and PRN positions. You will document thoroughly and serve as a liaison with families, first responders, and community providers while

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of related experience.
• Peer Recovery Specialist Certification (CPRS) or willingness to be certified within one year of employment.
• At least two years in full recovery AND three years of lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co-occurring disorder.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Self-identify as a Peer and provide peer support to consumers and families.
• Assist in conducting substance use crisis assessments, including overdose risk, withdrawal symptoms, suicide risk, safety concerns, harm reduction, and environmental factors impacting recovery.
• Create appropriate referral recommendations and develop treatment plans using available agency and community resources.
• Complete documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as appropriate federal, state, and county regulations.
