Job summary

CarePoint Response, Inc. in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Peer Recovery Specialist (SUD) to join our frontline crisis intervention team. The role supports clients during treatment, including assessment, counseling, and care planning, in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The position offers part-time, full-time, and PRN shifts with day and night coverage. Successful candidates will self-identify as peers, provide peer support to clients and families, and collaborate with families, first responders,

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and at least two years of related experience.
• CPRS certification or willingness to be certified within one year of employment.
• At least two years in full recovery and three years of lived experience with mental illness, substance abuse, or a co-occurring disorder.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Self-identify as a Peer and provide peer support to consumers and families.
• Assist in conducting substance use crisis assessments, including overdose risk, withdrawal symptoms, suicide risk, safety concerns, harm reduction, and environmental factors impacting recovery.
• Create appropriate referral recommendations and develop treatment plans using available agency and community resources.
• Complete documentation in a thorough and timely manner.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as appropriate federal, state, and county regulations.
