Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University seeks a Peer Recovery Support Coordinator to support students in Rams in Recovery and the Virginia Collegiate Recovery Scholars program. The role partners with the Assistant Director to develop, implement, evaluate, and continuously improve recovery programming and peer support services for students participating in Rams in Recovery and VACRS LEADS.

Qualifications

Eligibility to become a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) and obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and project management abilities.
Ability to work independently while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.
Commitment to equity, inclusion, and recovery-oriented practice.

Responsibilities

Coordinate all aspects of the Recovery Scholars Seminar Program each semester, including interviews, onboarding, registration, and surveys.
Develop and lead seminars and leadership development programming for participants.
Support Recovery Scholars and Rams in Recovery student engagement and events.
Manage student trips, budgeting, risk, and logistics for major experiences.
Maintain standardized resources, workflows, and documentation systems for program administration.
Provide recovery coaching, document sessions, and pursue ongoing professional development.
