Job summary

Connections Health Solutions in Virginia is looking for a Recovery Support Specialist (RSS) to provide peer-based supports that sustain recovery. You’ll facilitate groups and individual sessions and coordinate with a multidisciplinary team to meet treatment goals.

Candidates need a high school diploma, at least one year of personal recovery, and VA-registered Peer Recovery Specialist certification; compliance with background checks and vaccination policy is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• At least one year of personal recovery experience.
• Certified Peer Recovery Specialist registered with VA Board and maintains registration.
• Must pass background checks and meet VA DBHDS/VA DSS requirements; vaccination policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Act as an active facilitator in group and individual recovery sessions.
• Lessen seclusion/restraint through therapeutic alliance and trauma-informed care.
• Demonstrate knowledge of community resources to support recovery needs.
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team throughout treatment and recovery.
• Document encounters in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
• Use appropriate self-disclosure to support clients and maintain boundaries.
