Job summary

Telecare Sonoma ACT seeks a Peer Recovery Educator to plan and deliver a monthly recovery education calendar, promoting Telecare’s RCCS recovery culture and incorporating client preferences into services and self-help activities.

You will be responsible for organizing classes, activities, and outings, while meeting state certification requirements and supporting adults with behavioral health challenges in a community setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Peer Certification must be obtained prior to hire date and maintained throughout employment.
• California: Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA must be obtained within 120 days of your date of hire and maintained throughout employment.
• Completion of an Adult Education Instructor course or completion within one year of hire.
• Experience teaching or facilitating adult learning.
• Two years’ experience supporting individuals with behavioral health challenges.
• Must be CPR, First Aid, and CPI certified.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be willing to use a personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, organize, deliver, and maintain a robust recovery education monthly calendar of classes and activities.
• Promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture as defined by RCCS and integrate client preferences into services and self-help programming.
