Job summary

Kaniksu Community Health in Sandpoint, Idaho is seeking a dedicated Peer Recovery Coach to join our Patient Centered Medical Home team. You will support patients with recovery plans, provide compassionate coaching, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary group to promote coordinated, patient-centered care.

The role requires CPRC certification or IBADCC provisional eligibility, strong communication, and the ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

Qualifications

• Certified Peer Recovery Coach (CPRC) or eligible for provisional IBADCC certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of sustained personal recovery preferred if using lived experience in coaching.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of current automobile insurance.
• Ability to pass a criminal background check or obtain a waiver as required.
• Experience with Motivational Interviewing, Harm Reduction, and trauma-informed practices.
• Experience working in integrated healthcare, FQHCs, behavioral health settings, or related systems.

Responsibilities

• Build authentic, respectful, and strengths-based relationships with individuals seeking recovery support.
• Provide peer recovery coaching utilizing motivational interviewing, recovery capital, trauma-informed care, and harm reduction principles.
• Assist individuals in creating, implementing, and reviewing individualized recovery and wellness plans.
• Document services accurately, timely, and in accordance with organizational standards using the EHR.
• Collaborate with physicians, behavioral health clinicians, nurses, care coordinators, social workers, and community partners to promote coordinated, patient-centered care.
