Job summary

ACMH INC in New York, NY seeks a Peer Program Specialist for St. Hilda's House to provide direct services to clients in their homes and to assist with training in daily living skills.

The role reports to the Program Director and operates from Manhattan (Hamilton Heights) with a Monday–Friday, 11:00am–7:00pm schedule. Requirements include lived experience in behavioral health or related services, NYCPS certification preferred, and a high school diploma or GED preferred.

Qualifications

• Lived experience with mental health, substance use, or homelessness services.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Basic computer and data entry skills.
• NYCPS certification is preferred.
• High School diploma or GED is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Teach skills for daily living, hygiene, budgeting, and meal planning.
• Monitor apartment maintenance and safety, report issues.
• Administer safety tests and medication self-management.
• Document services and client progress in a timely manner.
• Facilitate groups and support self-advocacy and recovery goals.
