Job summary

NorthLakes Community Clinic is seeking a Speech-Language Pathologist to support pediatric therapy in Hayward, WI. The role collaborates with patients and families to improve speech, language, swallowing, and related skills, using telehealth as needed.

Eligible candidates must reside in the service area, hold a current SLP license, and can work 24–40 hours per week with a $12,500 sign-on bonus. The position includes a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited Speech Pathology Program.
• Current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice the profession.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for, administer, score, and interpret initial evaluations and re-evaluations including writing a report.
• Communicate with patients to evaluate their levels of speech or language difficulty.
• Determine the extent of communication problems by having a patient complete basic reading and vocalizing tasks or by giving standardized tests.
• Diagnose & Identify treatment options.
• Create and carry out an individualized treatment plan.
• Teach patients how to make sounds and improve their voices.
• Teach alternative communication methods, such as sign language, to patients with little or no speech capability.
• Work with patients to improve their ability to read and write correctly.
• Work with patients to develop and strengthen the muscles used to swallow.
• Counsel patients and families on how to cope with communication disorders.
• Review relevant literature, synthesize evidence-based materials, and translate complex behavioral health concepts.
