Job summary

UPMC Physician Services is seeking a full-time Scheduling Coordinator to join the pediatrics team. You will schedule patient appointments, manage demographics, and communicate with patients in a courteous manner both in person and on the phone.

Qualifications

• BA degree with 1 year related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of third‑party health care coverage and medical terminology.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Guest relations experience preferred.
• Experience with computer-based systems preferred.
• Ability to function well under stressful conditions.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate with physicians and teams.
• Answer incoming calls promptly and courteously.
• Back up medical records technician for patient records creation and retrieval.
• Coordinate correspondence for patients, researchers, and referring physicians.
• Enter information into EPIC/EMR systems.
• Assist with scheduling and information gathering for appointments.
