Job summary

The University of Utah invites applications for a Prior Authorization Supervisor in the Department of Pediatrics within the Spencer F. Eccles School of Medicine.

This role leads the Prior Authorization team, overseeing staff hiring, training, and performance while managing EPIC workflows and departmental metrics to ensure timely approvals. Based in the Pediatric Clinical Enterprise, the supervisor will drive process improvements, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support ambulatory

Qualifications

• Experience processing and managing medical prior authorizations in a healthcare setting.
• Experience supervising or leading healthcare revenue cycle, prior authorization, patient access, or clinical support staff.
• Experience using EPIC for prior authorization workflows, work queues and In Basket management.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the Prior Authorization department, hire/train staff, assign work queues, and monitor performance.
• Resolve issues related to prior authorization requests, payer requirements, and access concerns.
• Assist in updating department policies, workflows, and standards for prior authorization processes.
