Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or clinical field preferred
• Minimum five years of prior experience in a medical office
• Experience with medical office information systems and electronic billing
• Knowledge of ICD-9/CPT coding, Medicare/Medicaid guidelines, and workers' compensation

Responsibilities

• Oversee business operations of the physician practice
• Hire, train, and supervise employees
• Ensure compliance with JCAHO, FLSA, CLIA, OSHA, ADA, EEO, and licensure requirements
• Manage check-in/check-out using the medical office information system
• Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate source
• Perform basic clerical duties (filing, typing)
• Maintain accurate medical records
• Call in prescriptions with physicians' approval
• Provide back up for all practice-based business office functions
• Communicate clearly with team, physicians, and patients
• Exercise cost consciousness
• Perform other duties as assigned
