Baystate Health in Springfield, MA seeks a Patient Service Representative to join the Pediatrics team at 50 Wason Ave. This full-time role (40 hours) supports patient reception, registration, and insurance verification, collaborating with the care team. You will greet patients, verify demographics, check referrals, collect co-pays, schedule appointments, and manage checkout while adhering to HIPAA. A high school diploma and 6–18 months PSR experience (or 3 years for PSR III) are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• 6-18 months experience preferred (PSR I or II) or 3 years preferred (PSR III).

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and verify demographics.
• Check for necessary referrals/pre-authorizations and update patient records.
• Verify insurance coverage and collect co-pays or outstanding balances.
• Schedule new and follow-up appointments according to practice guidelines.
• Assist at check-out, review information, and arrange future visits/ referrals.
• Answer calls, route messages, and prepare/route documents in HIPAA-compliant manner.
