Responsibilities

• Patient and Room Preparation: prepare exam room and patient, ensure equipment and education materials are ready, review schedules to optimize patient flow.
• Patient Intake and History: collect patient data and health history, document in CIS/Centricity, relay information to provider.
• Clinical Orders: implement orders, handle refills, manage prescriptions and prior authorizations.
• Assisting Provider: assist with procedures, set up and clean rooms, anticipate provider needs.
• Procedures: perform tasks like EKG, vision/hearing screening, point-of-care testing, immunizations as policy allows.
• Documentation: record procedures timely and accurately in patient records.
• Patient Discharge: schedule follow-ups and referrals, provide education materials, prep for next patient.
• Communication/Leadership: coordinate with care team for smooth hand-offs and flag issues.
• Completes referrals and scheduling: arrange prior authorizations and surgical/procedure bookings.
• May float or cross-train to other departments as needed.
