Guthrie's Pediatric Center in Sayre, PA seeks a Patient Service Specialist to be the friendly first contact for families seeking care for infants to age 21. You will handle daily front-office tasks, register patients, schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect payments, and support clinical teams in a fast-paced environment.

You'll need strong customer service, basic medical office skills, and a commitment to confidentiality under HIPAA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, Medical Office Assistant training preferred.
• Demonstrated customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable with computers and learning new applications.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a courteous, professional, and timely manner.
• Answer phones, screen calls, take messages, and provide information.
• Schedule and maintain patient appointments; verify information; assign MRN.
• Register patients; verify demographics and insurance; scan cards.
• Verify eligibility for major insurances; complete forms and referrals.
• Inform, quote, and collect copays, deductibles, deposits, or balances.
• Daily cash-out and balancing per policy.
• Liaise between patients, physicians, staff, and departments; communicate delays.
• Attend meetings and adhere to policies; maintain confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Prioritize tasks in a fast-paced team environment; participate in quality initiatives.
