Job summary

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh seeks an experienced, full‑time Professional Staff Nurse, OP to join our Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery outpatient team. You will provide hands‑on patient care, assist with bedside and in‑clinic procedures, triage concerns, manage phone and portal messages, and educate patients and families throughout the care journey.

This role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• Must hold an active RN license and provide patient care in outpatient settings.
• Experience in pediatric or surgical outpatient care is preferred.
• Ability to educate patients and families effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on patient care and assist with procedures in the outpatient setting.
• Triage patient concerns and manage phone/portal messages.
• Educate patients and families and coordinate care across the patient journey.
• Collaborate with surgeons, APPs, and care teams to ensure quality outcomes.
