Job summary

UPMC West Mifflin Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking a Full-Time PACU Professional Staff Nurse to cover Pre-Op and PACU. The role features four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday, with no weekends, nights, holidays, or on-call duties.

The RN will work in both Pre-Op (5:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) and PACU (7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.). This position supports the Outpatient POPA Nursing Career Ladder, offering opportunities for ongoing professional growth and development within a fast-paced ambulatory

Qualifications

• RN will support Pre-Op and PACU, typically two Pre-Op shifts (5:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m.) and two PACU shifts (7:00 a.m.–5:30 p.m.).
• No weekends, nights, holidays, or call.
• Strong communication, reliability and teamwork are emphasized.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains productive working relationships with patients and colleagues, demonstrates accountability, and communicates safety hazards.
• Provides teaching to patients and families about the episode of care and transition to home or next level of care.
• Applies nursing process within Relationship Based Care to create a healing environment and develop daily goals and plans of care.
• Participates in unit-based quality improvement and governance to improve patient care and the practice environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
