Job summary

UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced, full-time Professional Staff Nurse, OP to join our outpatient team. You will work closely with pediatric surgeons and APPs, providing hands-on patient care, assisting with bedside and in-clinic procedures, triaging concerns, managing phone and portal messages, and coordinating care throughout the patient journey. Schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.

to 4:30 p.m. with no evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months experience preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in any applicable state; CPR/compliance requirements.
• Ability to provide patient and family education and coordinate care across the outpatient team.

Responsibilities

• Actively participates in quality improvement efforts and supports patient satisfaction.
• Establishes collaborative relationships with physicians, APPs, and staff; uses clinical judgment in patient care.
• Provides teaching to patients, families, students and new staff; supports open dialogue and continuous development.
• Formulates patient care plans, triages patient situations, and coordinates care with physicians.
• Maintains professional responsibilities and adapts to change within the care team.
• Demonstrates safety, communication, and teamwork to ensure patient-centered care.
