Job summary

UCSF Health is seeking a Clinical Nurse Simulation Educator to design, implement, facilitate, and evaluate multidisciplinary simulation-based education across pediatric care settings in the Oakland area. You will strengthen clinical performance, teamwork, communication, and patient safety by guiding educators and facilitators, leading debriefings, and partnering with leaders to grow the program.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing required.
• Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of regulatory and accrediting agency standards, educational program design, training for impact methodology, performance improvement methodology, facilitative leadership methodology, and simulation technology.
• Experience in design, development, implementation, and evaluation of interdisciplinary simulation programs using adult learning principles.
• Detail-oriented with proven organizational skills to codify programs/policies, manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to deadline.
• Demonstrated teamwork leadership experience, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience working in a clinical setting with physicians, staff and learners; knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology and clinical application.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, facilitates, and evaluates multidisciplinary simulation-based education to promote clinical excellence and patient safety.
• Collaborates with clinical leaders, educators, the Program Manager, and Medical Director of Simulation to assess learning needs and develop curriculum.
• Leads structured debriefings and evaluates learner outcomes to improve practice and systems of care.
• Supports integration of simulation into the clinical setting with innovative techniques.
• Partners with stakeholders to support implementation, evaluation, continuous improvement, and growth of the program.
