Job summary

Akron Children's is seeking a Registered Nurse for a full-time, on-site role in Ohio. You will provide nursing care under physician direction, mentor staff, perform patient assessments, and support discharge planning within a pediatric ambulatory care setting.

The position requires a BSN, current Ohio RN license, BLS, and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for teamwork and quality patient care.

Qualifications

• BSN required; degree must be obtained within 5 years if not already held.
• Current BLS certification required (American Heart Association).
• Valid Ohio RN license (MSL); MSL needed within 90 days for telenursing/out-of-state care.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care under physician direction and mentors clinical staff.
• Precepts new employees and acts as a mentor to the clinical staff.
• Performs patient assessments as required.
• Develops education for staff on clinically related issues.
• Participates in evaluating clinical staff at 90 days and annually.
• Advocates for children’s health and maintains positive public image.
• Collaborates across departments and assists with discharge planning.
• Other duties as required.
