Job summary

Advocate Children's Hospital - Oak Lawn is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to provide and coordinate comprehensive respiratory care in a Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Pediatric Cardiac ICU, and other pediatric units.

The role requires graduation from an accredited program with an associate degree and state RCP licensure; BLS certification is required. You’ll participate in a robust orientation, with full-time 36 hrs/week on the 3rd shift (7pm–7am), every other weekend and holiday rotation.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with an associate degree.
• RCP license required in the practicing state.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers is required.

Responsibilities

• Support patient assessment using pulmonary diagnostics, chest radiographs, and lab data.
• Operate specialized ventilators in critical and non-critical care areas.
• Administer medications and therapies per physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on therapy purpose, technique, and self-care.
• Maintain and troubleshoot equipment; ensure safety and compliance.
